SEIKO Prospex SJE117 Marinemaster

$2,800.00

Item Number: 201008877

This piece is a re-interpretation of Japan’s ‘ and Seiko’s ‘ first ever Diver’s watch which was released in 1965 and marked the beginning of Seiko’s expertise in diving watches. From 1966-1969, this watch was worn by members of the Japanese Antarctic Research Expedition, proving its durability and reliability in challenging environments.
With a case design inspired by the original 1965 piece, carrying the name ‘Marinemaster’ from Seiko’s heritage in diving watchmaking, the aesthetic is modernised with an elegant marine sports style.

Under a box sapphire crystal glass is a refreshing Aquatic green dial with a textured horizontal pattern. Aside from mirror-finished lugs, it features rectangular Lumibrite-coated indices, reminiscent of the original 1965 Diver. In a more compact case size than previous re-interpretations, it recreates the silhouette of the first piece. The super hard coated case is only 12.3mm, making it the slimmest Seiko mechanical diver at ISO Diving Standard, despite its box sapphire crystal glass and sapphire exhibition case back.
