80 Years of Brilliance
We turned 80 years old this year, and over that span of time have always been known as the place to
shop for diamonds, jewelry and other fine gifts when only the best will do. We have earned this reputation
through our dedication to a long term “Quality Philosophy.” That being, fine quality will bring customers back
and create new customers through the endorsements given to Underwood’s by our satisfied customers.
However, we define quality differently than most stores; because with us, quality is not just materials and
craftsmanship, it also includes design, presentation, service, integrity, and your experience in our store.
The result of this philosophy is the satisfaction a customer feels when they have chosen that special gift
from Underwood’s.
Included on these pages you will find brand names that share our vision of quality, and also many one-ofa-
kind pieces we have created for you that carry the Underwood name. We also have provided information
that defines who we are as a Company, where we have been, and where we are going.
Since 1928, it has been our belief that people deserve to be served by highly qualified professionals.
Today, with the advent of the Internet, Google searches, paid search words, organic searches and a lot
more, there is more information, both true and untrue, readily available to you. This is why we continue to
train, educate, and require our staff to earn American Gem Society professional titles so that, in the words
of our Founder, H. F. Underwood, they “know the truth and tell the truth” about jewelry, gemstones and
diamonds. As a result of this core value, Underwood’s has the largest American Gem Society-credentialed
staff east of the Mississippi river. On the staff page, we have pictures of our professionals by store with their
names and titles.
In this, our 80th year, we know the most important qualities that have brought us to this point are honesty
and integrity. If we could look into the future, these same qualities will be equally important at our
100th Anniversary. We know that while some things change (and we embrace those) other things do
not and cannot. This is why we stay true to our core values, hold the Underwood “Quality Philosophy”
as an uncompromised standard, and most importantly, keep our customer as the most precious part of
our business.
We hope you will stop by and allow us to serve you with the excellence you deserve.
